May 2001

From Mark on 17 May 2001

Valentines Ball '87 Theatre In The Round, Scarborough, was the first (and last) time I saw Mr.Thrud. Shortly after they became Little Angels and I saw the first "Angels" gig at the same place.

Before Little Angels had been chosen as a name, I remember bumping into Toby who told me that the band were considering names such as Lion or Diver. I obviously didn't look too impressed as he told me that they were good names but that I had to think about it, well I'm still thinking, but I haven't changed my mind yet!

I went to a lot of Little Angles gigs in 1987 but two which stick out are the rather loud (just search through back editions of the local Scarborough papers) gig at the Opera House, and travelling down on the bus from Scarborough railway station for the first headline show at The Marquee.

The Thrud songs stick in my mind the most, Icecream fives, Reach for me and Burning me, etc.

The other day I found "Little of the past" on CD, before that it had been some time since I listened to an LA song, as I don't have a record player anymore.

Anyway, that got me onto this........

It's nice to read that all the Angels are alive and well, and on occasion reading through all of this.

Ta
Mark

Hi - just come onto the site for the first time. The Little Angels manager was a friend of my family, and consequently, I was in their video for Sail Away... recorded in Widemouth Bay in Cornwall. (someone on this board asked where it was filmed, but it was back in 2000, so he's probably found out by now..)

Can anyone tell me where I can get hold of a copy of the video/mpeg ?!

Angel Update:

Mark richardson has been drumming for Mel B on her recent UK appearances, including one Saturday morning TV show (don't know which one) and the gig for Nelson Mandella in London.
