Little Angels

Scarborough's angelic rocksters The Little Angels brought the house down in a triumphant return visit to the town last night.

Eager fans rushed forward from the stalls of the Futurist Theatre to welcome the band at their first Scarborough gig for more than two years.

Soaring vocals, thundering guitar, and generally rock-solid musicianship kept the audience on its feet and shook the theatre walls like Jericho.

The Little Angels proved they could provide an enthralling live show and write strong, memorable material, although unkind souls might have argued that there were a little too many echoes of days gone by in last night's performance.

But while sceptics debated whether the Angels were a recycled version of The Who or some other rock reincarnation, the audience got on with enjoying themselves.

The Angels, flying up the UK charts with their latest single, are building a considerable world-wide reputation, and if they can keep up the momentum the sky is likely to be the only limit for the nearly famous five.
